Harvesting Honey Part 2

The harvesting process went very well today. As you can see from the photo, the frames are fully drawn out with wax and honey.

Here Daniel took the heated knife and removed the caps from each of the frames

Here Daniel is placing the open frames in the extractor.

This extractor holds two frames.

Daniel is spinning the honey out of the frames and it will drain to the bottom of the extractor.

Each frame needed to be flipped to get the honey from both sides.

Here is the honey from the first two frames!! We were all so excited.

This is the wax that was melted to open up the frames.

This is what I will be doing for most of the day, waiting for the honey to drip from the wax so we can clean the wax to make candles.  :)
We are so thankful to God for the provision of honey this year. We have looked forward to this for many years.

How exciting Kim. You can also make chap-sticks and lotion. All sorts of things. God is good!!!
